The beautiful area of Cognac spreads out from Rouillac to Chateauneuf, Jarnac to Segonzac

The region was occupied by the Romans and has a gallo-roman theatre at Bouchauds and the remains on the Roman road of Agrippa, near Rouillac.There are innumerable Roman style churches and some beautiful chateaux e.g La Roche Courbon near Saintes and La Rochefoucauld in the Charente

10 mn by foot from the hotel is the castle of the Valois where King François 1er was born on 1494. From 1795, the castle has been the property of Otard,  a famous Cognac company.

Don't miss the old town with its cobbled streets and ancient merchant houses.

The hotel is very close to most of the Cognac houses: Camus, Hennessy, Bache-Gabrielsen, Martell where visits and tastings are available. Remy Martin is a little way from the town with its own boutique.
